Work on a new Buddhist Temple began work today in Nicholls. Blessings and foundations were laid today, the start of a long process planned to end in 2015.
“The foundation stone ceremony signified the official commencement to the construction phase for the
temple,” Dr Bourke said.
“It is wonderful that the temple’s foundation stone ceremony is in the week that Canberra is celebrating 100
years since the laying of the city’s foundation stone.
“When completed, the complex will house a temple, landscaped gardens and residential quarters for the monks
who will stay on site.”
