Multiple intersections and buildings were without power in the Civic area of Canberra this morning.

Electricity supplier EvoEnergy says the unplanned outage affected parts of Ainslie, Braddon, Campbell, City, Parkes and Reid.

The outage began at about 11:00 am and crews are investigating the cause of the outage.

The outage is affecting people in more than 1600 locations.

An EvoEnergy spokesperson said power has been restored to all buildings except for one in Coranderrk Street in Civic.

“Customers were restored within 40 minutes, however, one apartment building in Coranderk St is still without power.

“Our crews are now working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible to this building.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the community for their patience,” the EvoEnergy spokesperson said.
