Buildings & Contents Insurance

By Zultan - 1 March 2012 3

I wonder if anyone can offer me insight into an issue I’m having setting up buildings & contents insurance for a house I am buying.  After a frustrating time with the Allianz website, I dialled the call center.

All was going great until I was asked the question “Is the house part of a strata plan”, in my ignorance I replied “Not sure, but it is on crown lease land – is that the same?”.

After a long period on hold, I was then told that Allianz couldn’t offer me insurance “we don’t do it on crown lease land”.  I couldn’t believe that they’d exclude the whole of ACT from their customer base, so called back – but was told the same thing.

Is it they or I who is mad?

What’s Your opinion?
