Glitz and glamour have well and truly returned to Canberra with fundraisers and awards nights on the autumn calendar, providing opportunities for Canberrans to get dressed up and celebrate once again.

Independent Property Group made sure their annual Awards Night was something special with their ‘Night at the Movies’ themed event at QT Hotel in the city, complete with red-carpet arrivals (just like a movie premiere).

Independent Property Group general manager for brand and marketing Narelle Casey said the night was a huge success.

“It was all about bringing our whole company together to celebrate the year that was and award some fairly high performers,” Narelle said.

“We tried to make the night as fun as possible and we had lots of amazing elements that personalised virtually every single person that was in the audience.”

Narelle said every office in the property group was represented by a movie of their choice that best represented them.

“As a team, we did things like re-creating movie posters, we photoshopped all of our staff in them and we changed the titles slightly. It was pretty cool,” she said.

Narelle said premiere Australian impersonator and Australian Idol star Ben Price also made an appearance as part of the entertainment for the night.

“He does over 200 voices and he was just fantastic,” she said.

“The feedback has been amazing and everyone had a really good time.”

Narelle said this year’s awards were meant to be held in February, but due to COVID circumstances, they were pushed back to April.

“It was just nice to have everyone together in the one place which we haven’t been able to do for over a year.”

“We’ve been in business for over 60 years, and this awards night has been held for over 30 years now, which is amazing.”
