Comedy at Tuggeranong Arts Centre

Comedy ACT have been working really hard to build the standard of home-grown live comedy in the territory, so come and check it out.

Their show ‘Capital Punishment’ (featuring the Stevenson lads) has just returned from a string of shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and stalwart Jay Sullivan is fresh back from a two-month working holiday in the comedy heartland of New York City.

Jay recently facilitated a short stand-up comedy course, blooding a fresh crop of eager Canberra comedians that are keen to show off their wares. There’s nothing better for emerging comedians to get up in front of a full house so please come along and check out these emerging performers, and help them develop their skills.

The Canberra comedy scene is generating interest all acorss the territory. Upstairs at Civic Pub has been packed every first Monday of the month; open-mic at the Front in Lyneham on the second Tuesday of each month is always fun; with PJ O’Reilly’s in the city (last Thursday of month) and this Tuggeranong Arts Centre looking to become permanent fixtures – there are different live show in Canberra each week.

So come along and support these homegrown performers trying to master the toughest job in show-biz.
