The Poms in Oz forum has just kicked off a rather entertaining discussion on what to write in Commitment to Canberra statements.
So far there’s just one suggestion which I thought was rather good:
I like Canberra and I totally want to live there. I dislike the sea and don’t want to live near it. That means in Australia, I am essentially limited to Alice Springs or Canberra. To be honest, it’s a close run thing between the two but Questacon probably swings it to Canberra. I totally don’t want to get a visa for Canberra and move to Sydney as soon as possible. In fact, I so don’t want to do that that I haven’t even considered the possibility.
