Chief Minister Stanhope is celebrating the 40th birthday of Craft ACT:

Mr Stanhope said Craft ACT was established in 1971 as the region’s peak body for the contemporary craft and design sector and had been a focal point for artists ever since.

“Craft ACT has provided professional support to hundreds, if not thousands, of local artists and crafts people over the last 40 years,” Mr Stanhope said.

“I congratulate Craft ACT on reaching this significant milestone and encourage all Canberrans to visit it to view some of the impressive and diverse works on display.”

Craft ACT is located on the first floor, North Building, 180 London Circuit, Civic Square. The Elements: Metal, HiddenTreasures and Harvest exhibitions are open to the public until Saturday, 19 March 2011.
