Deja Vu with the Canberra Raiders

Thirty years on and we have been here before?

Don Furner amd David Furner both have the dubious honour of taking the Raiders to the wooden spoon Don with the first Canberra Raiders in the inaugural year 1982, however, he did not have what some might argue is the high priced and overpaid livestock of his son David.

Don made do with a spare parts rag tag team of discards and local players that achieved way beyond expectations.

The reality is that they played for pride, it doubtful todays crew could claim the same.

I never missed a game as I knew that they tried their hearts out every week.

Today’s crew rate: I may watch them on TV or I might not.

David rack your cue for the sack of the club.

People are not going to pay good money to watch a side get flogged week in week out.
