While we can’t all sail off to a tropical island to escape the COVID blues, Canberrans can leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind them the minute they walk through the doors of the La Terre Day Spa.

A tropical oasis nestled within the concrete jungle, the day spa is the brainchild of Vivian Song, who has put her stressful corporate life behind her and found inner peace by nurturing others.

“I was inspired to open the spa after staying at a six-star resort on Hamilton Island in 2020,” Vivian said.

“I enjoyed relaxing and forgetting about everything, and I wanted to bring a tiny slice of paradise to Canberra.”

The La Terre Day Spa opened in Bruce in October 2021 and offers a full range of wellness and spa treatments, from soothing botanical facials to full body Thai, stone or remedial massages.

Individuals, couples or groups can enjoy a selection of luxurious spa packages that include up to three hours of pampering from head to toe, plus fresh fruit platters and private use of a spa bath and sauna.

“All our packages are delivered in private treatment rooms designed to make guests feel relaxed and forget about their everyday work and life stresses,” Vivian said.

“It’s important for people to take some time out for themselves, or share a few special hours with their partner or friends for a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary.”

The day spa is not just for women – men are encouraged to put down their to-do lists and unwind with a massage or treatment.

At La Terre Day Spa, Mother Earth holds all the secrets to radiance and wellness with all-natural products to unlock the beauty that can be found in everyone.

Vivian has been researching the latest all-natural beauty products, and she is training in remedial massage and facials.

“It’s been a big change, but I am very passionate about providing the kind of exquisite services that I’ve enjoyed at resorts,” she said.

“I know the quality of services that our customers expect.”

Moving from the corporate world to the spa industry, Vivian says she has discovered how to look after herself better. She is enjoying a healthier, more relaxed lifestyle where wellness comes first. And she is keen to share that message with her clients.

As well as providing lux services, La Terre has been designed as a tranquil space for guests, and the spa lounge and treatment areas have been fitted out with natural timber and calming olive green tones, complemented by dark red doors representing the earth.

“We’ve got lots of plants, stone and wood and it feels very tranquil and in touch with nature,” Vivian added.

The friendly team at La Terre Day Spa invite Canberrans of all ages to come and discover the hidden oasis and watch the outside world “slip away”.

Located in Bruce, La Terre Day Spa is open from 10 am until 8 pm every day, and at other times by appointment.
