Stomp, the night when Canberra’s social dancing scenes come together to raise money for charity, is on again this Saturday night at the Albert Hall, this time with a “Rio Carnaval” theme. The organisers are expecting a crowd of about 300, with dancers into Ceroc, Swing, Salsa, Rock ‘n Roll and probably a few others too.

Tickets are $20, funds raised go to CanTeen, more info here.

Woden Blues Trivia Night
Canberra Irish Club, Weston.
Saturday. Doors open at 7, 7:45 start.
Entry $10
Teams of 8

There is a 70’s theme, with prizes for best dressed…

Emphasis is on a bit of fun rather than serious Trivia but there will be heaps of prizes, and a silent Auction for a 2007 Canberra Raiders signed away jumper.

Proudly supported by

Canberra Irish Club, Auto 1/Rare Spares Phillip, Waramanga Bottle-O and General Store, Diminion On-Line Auctions, Ulysses Restaurant and Bistro, Pitaya Thai Restaurant Griffith, Howards Storage World, Shop Rite Rivett, http://www.portlandbet.com, Greenway Painters, Paul Hydes Carpet Cleaning, Brumbies Sports and Social Club and the jumper was donated by the ACT Leagues Club at Braddon.

More info located at http://www.irishclub.com.au/wodenblues

Yes, the Jester ball is on and I would be going except that my presence is required in Queensland for a family Mothers day thing.

johnboy 11:00 am 10 May 07

The jester ball has it’s own myspace where it purports to be a 99 year old woman. It also has 964 friends, only some of which are spamming ringtones.

There’s also it’s own website.

Tonight (Thu) @ ANU. The Black Keys supported by Kill Devil Hills. Two finer bands you’d have to travel a long way to see. Highly recomended.
