2012 is hotting up (figuratively) and the blockbusters of summer are winding up.
What’s worth seeing and doing around town this weekend?

And I had a great Saturday morning, seeing the first woman bishop for the Canberra and Goulburn diocese appointed at the cathedral in Goulburn. (Two bishops, one male, one female appointed.) This was the first time a woman has been made a bishop in the ACT and (certain bits of) NSW. Hard to explain, but this means that God just got a bit more human (or rather, that we more accurately recognised god’s nature). And the threads were great too. I drank champagne to celebrate tonight. Perhaps she’ll even do baptisms…

Warning: I went to last year’s – they must have had ten times more people than they expected – the parking was a debacle, and I think I queued for half an hour for a piece of (lovely) apple pie, then queued again for a cuppa to go with it. I don’t think I’d go again because they would have no way to control the crowd – they aren’t set up for big events!
