Slim Pickins and Round John Virgin terrorise the Phoenix, 5-7 PM tonight (Friday). Free.

Gersey + The Devoted Few on Saturday night at the ANU bar for you indie rock fans.

I’m tipping we’d find something pretty ugly down there (and I’m not talking about a bunyip or Nessie’s long lost cousin).

A bit unexpected, when my mate and I first went out there in the boat with the depth sounder we found it’s nearly one hundred foot deep in places. Lots of silt for missing people in concrete shoes to be hiding in…

Bulldog. Drift nets. drift nets. just rake em along the bottom of the lake and see what pops up. we might score and find Harold Holt!, or find our glorious leaders conscience and brain.

ssanta, ;That’s been happening for years and a helluva lot closer than Reunion Island. There was a group of blokes in Tathra who used to shoot puppies on the wharf for burley and bait whilst shark fishing.

My tip for giant cod would be live baiting a small redfin and throwing it deep into some holes of Black Mountain Peninsula.

I am going fishing for the giant cod. RSPCA gave me a good heads up on what bait to use here

You only just beat me to it simto. I went along to their press call today.

For those of an internationalist theatrical bent, there’s also Russian drama at the ANU arts centre this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm with Chekov’s “Three Sisters” (performed in English, even) – tickets are $15 at the door.

Saturday – Cant make my mind up between the Fuelers at The Phoenix or Alchemist at the Church.

The big Camp Quality gig at the Old Canberra Inn.
