DJ McLaughlin Memorial

By Danman - 2 February 2007 21

Hey readers – I just got home – after my usual commute past the place where DJ McLaughlin necked killed himself.

I don’t know if I was switched on or what – but I happened to notice that the long standing memorial that was set up by his family/friends/whatever is no longer – i.e. its totally disappeared.

Anyone know what the go is with that.

Ill try an get down there for a picture – but its raining pretty heavily at the moment.

What’s Your opinion?

“Apparently having your head caved in by a piece of flying debris from a botched implosion is a significant contribution to the local community.”

That should go straight into the Pool Room.

ever thought of that bronze plaque with a few dynabolts and sealed up with liquid nails

Yeah, that is the current thinking.

He met his demise in a remote part of the Murrumbidgee, so it’s not like it’ll be terribly visible anyway.

I briefly investigated the options with the Guv, and apparently the individual must have made some significant contribution to the local community for a memorial to be considered for approval.

Chuggers, the man was a nasty piece criminal. He decided to frack society and the cops and his family said that it was everyones else fault.

Frankly, the gene pool got a good bottom scrub.

BTW, I had 7.5 hours of deep sleep last nite.

Cheers for the heads up Sammy – probably what was the case then.

Sammy – ever thought of that bronze plaque with a few dynabolts and sealed up with liquid nails.

Would be a most formidable thing to remove.

Apologies if ascii art gets garbled.

And given my brother died in 1989, i’ve been mulling it over for quite some time!

You are supposed to get Government approval to erect any sort of memorial to a dearly departed. Most people just erect one anyway.

I had planned on putting a small bronze plaque in the location of my brothers untimely death, but discovered that it would be illegal, and possibly removed.

Knowing it would likely distress me if this happened, the plaque remains on a shelf.

You’re a nasty piece of work Pandy. How do you sleep at night?

Is this a case of ‘It takes one to know one’?

Pandy 12:30 pm 04 Feb 07

I am very happy to see a memorial to a waste of space disappear.

Well, DJ’s sister’s a woman, and she has issues…

Maelinar 10:04 am 04 Feb 07

After that, lets go put up a fu.king monument to McNalleys comet.

Women’s issue?

Not really sure how interesting a picture of a memorial that isn’t, er, there anymore would be either…(?)
