Downer man charged with multiple burglary offences

A 25-year-old Downer man has been charged with multiple offences relating to a burglary over the weekend following reports of a break-in at a takeaway shop in Mitchell.

Police responded to a call on Sunday morning (12 January) and found the front door of the shop was smashed. Police located a vehicle a short time later that was used to leave the scene of the burglary and found items matching those used in the burglary during a search.

Police then arrested a man at a residence in Downer on Tuesday evening (14 January).

The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with burglary, theft, damage property and breach of parole.
