A Dunlop man who allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.197 after running into a barrier fence on Ginninderra Drive now has an appointment with the ACT Magistrates Court.

The 41-year-old has been charged with high-range drink driving offences after blowing almost four times the legal limit.

Police were called to a single-car accident in Bruce on Tuesday, 11 August 2020, after a blue Falcon veered off Ginninderra Drive.

ACT Policing alleges they found the driver of the vehicle sitting in nearby bushes.

The driver returned a positive roadside breath test and was taken to City Police Station for breath analysis. He allegedly returned a result of 0.197 and his licence was suspended.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics treated a passenger at the scene who was then taken to hospital for observation.

The man is due to appear in court on 22 September 2020.
