The ACT’s parliament, the Legislative Assembly, has a Standing Committee on Environment, Climate Change and Water, conducting an Inquiry into Current and Potential Ecotourism in the ACT and Region. The Committee has made an open invitation to the public for submissions. The Committee is comprised of one Assembly Member each from the Greens, Liberal and Labor Parties.
Submissions can be anything from a short email to a long Word or pdf document. They need to address one or more of the Terms of Reference. The closing date for submissions is Friday 30 March 2012.
The Terms of Reference and a map of exactly what ‘Region’ the Committee is referring to in the Inquiry is on the Inquiry’s webpage: http://www.legassembly.act.gov.au/committees/index1.asp?committee=112&inquiry=1052 If you would like more information on making a submission, you can find it on that webpage.
The Committee is looking forward to hearing people’s views on the environmental, economic development and other dimensions of ecotourism in the Region. The Secretary of the Committee will also be reviewing comments here and presenting them to the Committee.
If you have any queries, please call the Secretary on 02 6205 0136 or email her on sam.salvaneschi@parliament.act.gov.au
