A passionate and experienced property manager, Charlie Evans is the head of residential property management at VERV Property, one of Canberra’s most progressive boutique real estate businesses.

As a licensed agent for ACT and NSW, Charlie is able to capably execute legislative requirements and is devoted to delivering outstanding service to her clients. Many people know Charlie in her professional capacity, but Region Media sits down to find out what really makes her tick.

In one sentence, who are you and what do you do?

I am a secret introvert with a friendly and calming nature. I am one of the most organised people you’ll ever meet which is why I am a residential property manager.

What’s a fun fact most people don’t know about you?

I developed an interest in Olympic lifting when I started CrossFit prior to moving to Canberra. During the past 12 months, I commenced training at 12RNDS Belconnen which has given me a love for boxing.

Where did you grow up, and what is your earliest memory from there?

I was born and grew up in Bathurst, which is a nice country town. My earliest memory would be spending my weekends with my grandad. I moved to Canberra in 2017 and I go back to Bathurst every couple of months to see my family.

Where did you go to school, and what is your best memory from there?

I went to both primary school and high school in Bathurst. I didn’t really enjoy school as I was a nerdy musical kid, but now I appreciate my background and love for music.

What was your first job, and how did you get from there to where you are now?

I was a barista in a cafe when I was in high school. Once I finished school, I worked in numerous administration positions where I continued to study and gained my Certificate III in Business, and Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety. When I moved to Canberra, I started in administration for a commercial real estate company, allowing me to gain my registration and taking me on the path to property management. I studied and gained my real estate licence in 2019.

What do you like best about your current job?

I love working at VERV Property and I like being someone who my clients are happy to engage to manage their investment property. As I provide a highly detailed service, my owners build a tremendous level of trust and confidence in my capability as a property manager.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

I like going to the gym, and seeing and catching up with my friends. When I have a good weekend, I go home to see mum and dad and go out on the boat with them in summer.

What is your favourite national institution in Canberra where you take visitors?

When I first moved to Canberra, I visited the Australian War Memorial as it is nice to pay homage to those who have left us. I have attended the dawn service every year since moving to Canberra.
