As the weather gets colder in Canberra there’s no better time to come together to watch a great film set during a white and snowy Christmas.

A gadget salesperson finds a special Christmas gift for his son Billy (Zach Galligan) at a mysterious shop in Chinatown.

The shopkeeper only sells him the ‘mogwai’ if he agrees to follow three simple rules. But when those rules are inevitably broken, the unusual gift brings chaos to Billy’s idyllic American small town.

‘A horror-comedy about cute little Christmas toys/pets who turn into murderous monsters wreaking havoc on a Norman Rockwellian town’ – Chicago Tribune.

Come along, wear your ugly Christmas sweater and enjoy a complimentary glass of mulled wine.

The details

When: Saturday 24 July, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Where: Arc Cinema at the NFSA
