Black-hearted, nihilistic, and destructive;
Local is a film about Love.
- “When you are first born into the world, you are forgiven for the screams, your pain is understood. Over the next few years you will fight to take control over every bodily function, but, most of the time, you will fail. You will face denial with tears of rage, banging the ground before you. And through all this you are loved, you are forgiven your trespasses; you are but a child. There is only so long that the smiles last. The time will come when you are not loved for just living. You will take stumbling steps down an ill defined road and reflect on what’s yours.
We are all lost children told we are adults and we will never be the same again.”
Local is a black comedy about two friends seeking what was never properly defined for them; a life. With the world shifting into a hole, the search for meaning takes a front seat as Tom, a twenty-something failed business man, journeys back to his home town to see his old high school friend, Rik. In the search for what went wrong, the mistakes of their past are repeated.
No matter what the outcome, somebody is going to end up in a body bag.
We are seeking a full range of actors for our upcoming film that I have been working on for the past couple of years.
Local will be shot in and around Canberra in the next few months.
