A 26-year-old female teacher has been charged with child sex offences after she was arrested by ACT Policing yesterday (20 February).

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations- Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team began investigating the alleged inappropriate relationship between the teacher and her male student following a report in December 2021.

The 26-year-old woman was then arrested and charged with one count of committing an act of indecency on a young person and one count of using a carriage service to send indecent material to a young person.

Police expect the woman to appear in ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday, 21 February).
