Police have made their fourth arrest relating to the murder of former ACT Comanchero Commander Pitasoni Ulavalu.

A 26-year-old Red Hill man is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (13 August) charged with affray following the stabbing death of the 48-year-old Ulavalu at Kokomo’s in Civic on 19 July.

Ulavalu died after he was stabbed in the neck when a brawl broke out inside the Kokomo’s nightclub in Civic before spilling onto the street.

The man was taken into custody yesterday (12 August) after police executed a search warrant at his Red Hill residence.

Bail will be opposed.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said the investigation remains ongoing and ACT Policing Criminal Investigations detectives anticipate further arrests regarding the stabbing of Ulavalu.

A team of 27 investigators from a number of areas within ACT Policing are coordinating the investigation with interstate bureaus.

Three men have already faced court on 6 August in relation to the incident. A 26-year-old man, Frederick Elijah Mercy Tuifua of western Sydney, has been formally charged with Ulavalu’s murder.

Tuifua was also refused bail and will appear again in court on 25 August.

Two other men – a 22-year-old and a 23-year-old – also appeared in court on 6 August on charges of affray related to the stabbing.

Superintendent of Criminal Investigations Scott Moller said the two men arrested have links to the Comancheros Outlaw Motorcycle Gang both within the ACT and interstate.

The three men were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, 5 August when they arrived at a hospital emergency department with another man who had been shot three times at Garran. The man required emergency surgery and is also a person of interest in the stabbing of Ulavalu.
