Perhaps nervous about a “reclaim the Senate” backlash, our Liberal Senator Gary Humphries has launched a campaign to sort out FM radio reception in Tuggeranong.
“Currently, the only ABC FM transmitter in the ACT is located on Black Mountain. As a result, reception in certain parts of Tuggeranong is poor due to Mount Taylor.
“ABC Classic FM and JJJ listeners seem to be the most affected, but I am also interested in finding out if Tuggeranong residents are having trouble picking up other stations such as FM 106.3 and ArtSound,” Senator Humphries said.”
Concerned Tuggeranongers can get the survey from Gary’s website.
UPDATE: The following communication has arrived from within the FM104.7 bunker:
I noticed a story on Riot last week or so about the poor FM reception in the Tugg Valley.
Just a heads up 104.7 is now running a repeater service in the Valley transmitting from Tuggy Hill on the following frequency 100.7. This will alleviate all transmission drama’s once you head down Drakeford Drive and get the fade out. Especially good news for those in North Cooma suburbs off Calwell, Gordon etc etc
