A number of roads will be temporarily closed for New Year’s Eve celebrations in the City.
The ACT Government is implementing a number of temporary road closures ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations in the City. The road closures will be in place from 31 December 2017 to 1 January 2018 at various times.
Closure locations and times:
The following roads will be closed from 8.40 pm to 9.30 pm Sunday 31 December 2017 and from 11.40 pm Sunday 31 December 2017 to 12.30 am Monday 1 January 2018:
- Northbourne Avenue southbound between Cooyong Street and Vernon Circle;
- Vernon Circle both northbound and southbound between Commonwealth Avenue and Northbourne Avenue.
The following road and car park will be closed from 5 pm Sunday 31 December 2017 to 2 am Monday 1 January 2018:
- London Circuit between Northbourne Avenue and Akuna Street;
- The car park adjacent to North Building on London Circuit.
The following roads will be closed from 2 pm Sunday 31 December 2017 to 2 am Monday 1 January 2018:
- The car park adjacent to Legislative Assembly on London Circuit;
- Constitution Avenue at Vernon Circle.
It is anticipated that minor delays might take place in the area, but barriers and warning signs will be erected to ease traffic.
