The University of Canberra is letting know all who will listen that PRIME7 television personality Madelaine Collignon graduated with a Master of Legal Studies last week, her third degree from the University of Canberra.

It takes all sorts to make a world.

What’s Your opinion?

Suddenly, it all became clear to me.

She is going to ditch you, Prime Possum, for Kenny Koala.

That would be unbearable although Kenny has a penchant for french girls.

Congratulations to her, wish her the very best!

Honestly people who care about University brands are as nutty as those who get heated about iPhone vs Android. I know plenty of morons at ANU, plenty of very good people at UC. I knew plenty of morons who went to private school and never made it Uni, or didn’t make it into a “good one” and many who went to public school who were disadvantaged in some way but worked hard and made it far. It’s what you do and what you make it.

+1.

Hard to believe little local polytechnic “UC” offers postgrad quallies in marketing communications, when they’ve added this effort to their previous anything-but-stellar “marketing”: earlier this year, putting the UC logo, that looks exactly like a soccer ball, onto the jerseys of a rugby team. Brand confusion much? Now, these dunderheads are boasting that the local weather girl is graduating – and reminding us in the process that said Prime 7 provides about 7 seconds of local content a night. Not sure that it’s even broadcast from a location in Canberra. Maybe she’s an online student at the world’s 450th best (maybe, because the count didn’t go any lower) university. I’m sure she’s delightful, but if she had any smarts she would have switched to a real university following the first degree. Or certificate, or whatever it really was.

Why the hatin’ on UC? I’m an ANU graduate, but I’ve been intermittently involved with UC since it was the CCAE. There are good people there doing their best and producing good results under difficult conditions. I’ve also worked with quite a few UC graduates, and they’ve been as good as those from other larger institutions.

Seriously, you have a problem. Most employers don’t give a rat arse about where the degree came from, let alone if you have a degree, especially if you can proove you can do the job. The only people who seem to care are those who went to a uni because its a “real” uni and not because it offered a degree they wanted to do.

You sound like one of those knobs from ANU who think that making up the numbers in Acton somehow makes you more intelligent, employable, and likeable than doing it in Bruce.

Go outside, breathe some lovely fresh air, grab a warm drink, and relax a little.
