Yes Dr Veness is different but being different is not a crime nor is wanting to find love. Dr Veness has been a wonderful kind and careing Dr to me and I can tell you right here right now if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here today!

I was not, and never have and never will be, a “plastic bag lover”. I was forced to begin the campaign of (what you perceive as) “loving plastic bags” when on November 1, 2011, at the corner shop, a place where people buy food, toiletries, and other household items, I was forced to pay a fee (for a reusable bag) or carry all my items by hand. Back, and forth, and back, and forth, and back, and forth…..(get my drift yet?)

The only women I “hate” are the attention-seekers, the victim-mentality types, like the one who made the false rape accusation on a beach (http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/teen-girl-made-false-rape-report-to-police/story-e6frea83-1226395765839), a lot of the time they are on drugs and would do anything (including make such a false story up and get everyone to feel sorry for her) to support her next fix, the ones that get INNOCENT men into trouble. I have met Hugh Veness (not as a client, I should point out) and the guy is a bit different, to say the least.

The Tania Lioulios matter was just plain scary, it is amazing they he didn’t end up in the dock over that. The only thing that saved him was that she recanted her origninal statement, for reasons that will only be known to her.

At any give time there are quite a few ACT medical professionals (doctors, psychologists, nurses, etc) before the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for misconduct. Nearly all of their names are suppressed, so the general public has no idea if their medical professional is a drug addict, incompetent, or otherwise in the poo for not doing their job properly.

Let’s just watch the flood gates now open. She claims that the system failed her but I wonder how many Dr’s she saw, how many Dr’s bulk billed? I’m sorry but I don’t believe a word of this. Canberra’s justice system is back to front wrong way round.

I’m sorry but I personally believe that this is more of a political Witch hunt. Even the ‘victim’ says she didn’t want to loose a good Dr. Is it possible that she had $$$ signs in her eyes? Is it possible that the investigation in January that pushed her to over does??? I’ve put in a complaint about a Psyc where I had physical evidence and witnesses and they did nothing! Why because the act gov hadn’t stuffed up and needed a nice scap goat.
I have seen Dr Veness for many years and not ONCE has he ever prescribed a drug where he hasn’t gone through all the details/what’s/whys/don’t/do and half the comments don’t even sound the way he speaks. I’m also curious on how the ‘experts’ came to their conclusions using paperwork not actually interviewing him. Health system is stuffed from the hospitals through to so called investigations.
I don’t think it is necessary to publish his name either. As a patient I find the publication humiliating and affects all aspects of my current situation. I’m also fascinated by a dr getting 18 month suspension for having sex and doing narcotics with a patient yet Dr Veness’ registration cancelled.
This is absolute crap!

I would imagine that would require the patient to no longer be a patient. In other words, as long as there is a professional relationship, it has to remain professional.

In the real world I suspect that it would be pretty suss, even then.

Disgraceful by the AAT to have his name suppressed for so long. They seem to be working against the public interest. And shame on the Government & Greens for allowing it. I say the repercussions of Dr Venness’ actions are not sufficient. IMO, criminal charges are necessary.

We are looking at someone who, looking for his 5th wife, decided to predate on our most vulnerable. When his true colors began to show in 2009, when his former lover, married woman Dr Tania Lioulios, complained that he had illegally prescribed her OxyContin, and made allegations of Dr Veness’ violence and illicit drug use, he again abused his position of power.

Dr Tania Lioulios took her life in the back of an ACT correction-services van, after attending court for the matter.

Dr Veness was allowed, by our government and by the Psychiatrist registration board, to continue practicing in the ACT. Dr Veness then set about looking for another victim. Our government failed to protect not only Dr Tania Lioulios, but also every subsequent patient.

I say criminal charges MUST proceed. There needs to be heavier repercussions for those who PREDATE on our most VULNERABLE.
