On Belles’ suggestion we’re kicking off another theme week for Images of Canberra. This week your mission is birds in and around Canberra.
She’s sent in this pic of a perennial favourite in these parts, the crimson rosella.
Send your pix in to images@the-riotact.com and have fun snapping.

Images of Canberra – Bird Week
Oldest to Newst
My border collie always used to stalk Magpies that landed in the backyard. Usually he would rush at them too soon, and they would safely fly away. But one evening we came home to the evidence that even dogs can catch birds occasionally…
What Neanderthalsis said…
No Grumps, dogs never attack any native wildlife, they especially don’t attack possums, koalas, quolls, bandicoots, goannas, bluetongues…
The only reason you don’t see them up a tree eating native birds is because they can’t climb trees.
And this is why cats must be microchipped with explosives attached and locked in a house or cage. If they escape blow up the cat and save our wildlife. You don’t see dogs up a tree eating native birds at least they have respect for the beauty of our NATURAL fauna unlike killer cats.
