Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Cocko and Kobe are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!
Bird of the week: Cocko
At 60 years of age, Cocko currently holds the record for our oldest resident in care. Sadly, she was surrendered to us when her previous owner had to move into a nursing home where she could not be kept.
Cocko has lived a long and healthy life, with much-remaining love yet to be shared. Before she arrived at the shelter, Cocko had lost some of the feathers around her midriff, which means she would be best suited as an indoor bird for her comfort. It is unlikely that these feathers will grow back, which is part of the reason she will need to be housed inside.
The other reason is that this older girl has spent a lot of time on her own and is craving company and affection! Cocko is incredibly sweet and has spent her time at the shelter as a lovely office bird. Her days are filled with chatting to the boss in between snack time and renovating her cardboard box hide.
She would love a home with someone who is retired or works from home so that she can have consistent company. Do you have room for this lovely old lady?
Dog of the week: Kobe
Kobe is a young boy looking for someone to bring out the best in him! Upon first meeting, this boy presents as nervous and shy. He isn’t too sure of the world as he is only young and still learning to take everything in. But once he is comfortable, Kobe has all the energy he needs for a fun, bouncy play session.
Since arriving at the shelter, Kobe has earned the ‘Most Improved’ award, having come as a timid, scared and underweight dog. He has blossomed into a happy and healthy boy who now has pep in his walk and endless wags in his tail.
He has so much to learn and is very excited about it! Kobe would do well in a home with someone willing to put time and love into basic training and daily exercise. An owner who has previous experience with dogs would be most suitable, as Kobe will require plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.
Kobe would love a home with enough space to exude lots of energy and plenty of toys to keep him happy and entertained. Think he could be the right match for you? Come down to the shelter and meet Kobe today!
Paw Note: Our cat of the week, Miriam, has gone home to her forever home, while the previous dog of the week, Mila, is still waiting on her paw-fect match!
