The ANU is publicising an intriguing exhibition running at the School of Art until 30 May.

Johannes Kuhnen is a pioneer of the anodising and colouring processes of aluminium and its application in a studio based practice. He combines traditional working methods with industrial materials and processes. Kuhnen has also had significant influence on the contemporary gold and silver smithing scene in Australia.

Kuhnen’s inventive work has been highlighted for demonstrating the relationship between design, craft and art as well as the ability to blend old skills with new techniques.

Sounds worthy of a quick squiz.

Spooky – I just wrote an email to Mrs Nifty suggesting we go see this. Might also go see Soft Sculpture @ NGA.

BTW, SOA Gallery is open 12-5pm Saturday.
