With vacant lots getting harder to find in Canberra, a new land release in the capital has been fast-tracked.

Demand for the 30 blocks at South Jerrabomberra is expected to be high when they hit the market at 11:00 am on Saturday, 1 May.

Registrations are now open for Village Building Co’s land release, and blocks will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Village Building Co CEO Travis Doherty said the new release is welcome news for buyers who are currently looking to secure hard-to-find land in the Canberra region.

“South Jerrabomberra offers all the benefits of living in our region – infrastructure, job security, family focus and ease of travel – combined with the lifestyle benefits of living in NSW,” he said.

“The estate backs onto bushland and there’s space to move and grow as a family.

“It is not hard to see why people would want to live here, and why so many people have already taken up the opportunity to do so.”

Mr Doherty said land sales have progressed exceptionally well at South Jerrabomberra, with the first stage of the estate completely sold out and the second stage now 80 per cent sold.

“Due to demand, we have pushed our timelines to bring this land release forward,” he added.

Block sizes in the new subdivision start at 361 square metres.

Mr Doherty said all house and land packages have sold out, with more to be released to the market shortly.

Additional blocks will be released in future stages of the subdivision, with dates yet to be announced.

The contemporary suburb, located 20km from Civic, will eventually be home to about 1500 households, surrounded by open spaces and landscaped parklands.

Plans are in the pipeline for a major sports and aquatic centre, and there is easy access to established shops, the school and medical centre at Jerrabomberra.

Registrations for the next land release at South Jerrabomberra are now being accepted here.
