A man has been charged over a house shooting at Narrabundah yesterday afternoon (3 November).

The 31-year-old has been charged with endangering life, discharging a firearm and property damage after allegedly firing around five shots into a house.

Police executed a search warrant in Wright at around 11:30 pm last night where they arrested the man. A vehicle was seized and is undergoing forensics, Detective Inspector Matt Reynolds said when questioned if police had recovered a firearm.

The man allegedly returned to the scene while police were investigating the incident, Detective Inspector Reynolds said.

Three people were at home at the time of the shooting, including one child, but no one was injured, he said.

Police believe the shots were fired from a rifle.

The incident was a targetted attack over a dispute about money but was not gang-related, Detective Inspector Reynolds said.

Police are continuing to investigate whether anyone else was involved but said there is no ongoing risk to the public.

Anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, and quote the reference number 6665610.

Information can be provided anonymously.
