A man has received serious injuries following an attempted abduction by two men at the Latham shops on Friday morning at around 9:20 am (4 September).

A 49-year-old Spence man was arrested in relation to the incident on Saturday. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (7 September).

Police will allege the two men attempted to tie up the victim before trying to place him in the back of a silver Holden utility.

The victim successfully resisted their attempts but received serious injuries in the process. The men then fled in the utility.

The victim was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

He will face charges including aggravated robbery (in company), intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, attempted unlawful confinement and theft.

Investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
