Man faces 15 charges over city break-in spree

A 37-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today after a spate of burglaries on businesses in the inner city.

The man will face 15 charges related to nine burglaries committed between Friday, 17 April and Monday, 20 April.

It is alleged the man committed two commercial burglaries in Civic and seven commercial burglaries in Braddon.

The man is alleged to have forced entry to these businesses, in some cases significantly damaging the doors. Stolen items include electronic goods and cash.

Police arrested the man at about 8.30 am on Tuesday in Reid and found a number of items on his person including tools used during the burglaries.

The man has been charged with nine counts of burglary, three counts of minor theft, one count of theft, going equipped for theft and breach of a good behaviour order.
