A 67-year-old man will fight accusations he filmed an underage girl with hidden cameras near Canberra.

NSW Police began their investigation in May last year and allege that between 2014 and 2020 the man concealed multiple hidden camera devices and cameras in rooms used by the girl, who was then aged between 11 and 17.

The man was arrested in Victoria on 17 March, extradited to NSW, escorted to Queanbeyan Police Station and charged with five counts of filming a person in a private act without their consent.

On Tuesday (18 May), the man’s lawyer entered pleas of not guilty to each charge in the Queanbeyan Local Court.

Magistrate Roger Clisdell adjourned the case to 1 June and continued the man’s bail.

The man’s original bail conditions included that he report to police every day, live in Victoria and post a security deposit of $10,000.
