Woman allegedly defrauds Queanbeyan business out of more than $700,000

A woman has faced court after allegedly defrauding more than $700,000 from a Queanbeyan-based business.

A NSW Police spokesperson said that police officers attached to Monaro Police District were informed of the alleged fraud in October 2023.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested when she attended Queanbeyan Police Station at about 9 am on Wednesday (9 October).

The spokesperson said police will allege in court the that woman defrauded more than $736,000 from her employer.

The woman was granted conditional bail. She is next scheduled to appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on 21 October, 2024.

She has been charged with five counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage etc by deception and three counts of stealing property as clerk/servant – more than $15,000.
