Maximum security inmate escapes Goulburn jail

NSW Police Force is appealing for public assistance to locate a man who escaped from Goulburn Correctional Centre today.

Stephen Jamieson, 28, was last seen in the vicinity of Goulburn Correctional Centre about 12.50pm (Tuesday 18 August 2015).

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 177cm tall, of thin build with a fair complexion and brown eyes.

When he was last seen, Stephen Jamieson was wearing prison greens. Stephen Jamieson is a maximum security inmate in custody for a range of serious offences.

Anyone who sights Stephen Jamieson should not approach him but contact Triple Zero (000) immediately. Police are urging anyone with information in relation to these incidents to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au/.

how in hell does he collect all those bedsheets, unseen; then take them into an exercise yard which while supposedly maximum security shares a wall with the world, unseen; then tie them together, unseen; toss them over a wall and scarper, unseen??

Surprised they left out the bit where he used a bunch of bed sheets tied together to jump over the fence.

I dare say he didn’t escape from the SuperMax section (where Milat is housed). To say escape from there is unlikely is a massive understatement. There’s maximum security and then there’s SuperMax, which is like maximum security’s steroid-infused older brother.

Gotta wonder how a ‘ maximum security inmate ‘ could do a runner. Ivan Milat is still there I hope.
