Moonbat Monorail - powered by renewable energy and happy thoughts

Tom Worthington is calling for Canberra to celebrate its centenary by tearing up a lane of Belconnen Way and turning it into an Electric Highway.

For those people who live at either end of the “way” only, one assumes?

Why do all these “interesting” ideas involve the Civic-Belconnen axis?

the reason is clear about the monorail.

when Belconnen was first mooted it was planned to have a monorail installed as they were the froniter of public transport in the 1960-1970 mind set. there used to be a model of this at the Can uni library and it clearly stated “future monorail” also in the planning projections for public scrutiny it also has a section set aside for a monorail.

so Worthing ton is just trying to complete a unfinished project that most jellyfish out there have pooh poohed , just cos it dosent appeal to them. bunch of flat earthers……………..

If you are referring to the round-a-bout at the intersection of Drakeford Drive and Athlon/Isabella Drive, I saw that car! It was a absolute write off.

My own car was stolen from the lower-level Hyperdome carpark about 4 years ago. They drove it to braddon and blew out the tyres. However – I did get it back with pretty much everything else in tact and managed to use it for another year before the damge they (presumably) did to the clutch became too much.

I like stories.

Now, the comment about Tuggers, and blocks is not actually correct…

We all know that they don’t bother even moving the cars now… If you don’t believe me, just park you car in the middle of a roundabout for a couple of days, then go get it from one of our fine wrecking yards…

“Why do all these “interesting” ideas involve the Civic-Belconnen axis?”

I would imagine the majority of these proposals are put forward by folks who live or work near civic, ANU or UC.

Plus a Tuggers-Civic monorail would probably end up smashed up and on blocks down at Pine Island within a day or two.

As if sections of Belco aren’t a big enough mess due to the GDE construction. Let’s add to the mess!

Simon will get the horn over this

Jon Stanhope will be lovin’ this…someone distracting you from what really matters and committing future govt’s to a project that could only be seen through in a program called ‘futurama’.

If it aint broke – don’t fix it.
