Mugged in Hawker

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery which occurred in Hawker last night (Saturday, October 5).

About 9.45pm a man was withdrawing money from an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at the Hawker Shops when he was approached by a man with a knife.

The offender threatened the man and demanded cash. The man complied, giving the offender a sum of cash. The offender then fled on foot.

The offender is described as Middle Eastern in appearance and about 5’8” (170-175cm) tall. He was wearing a long sleeved blue shirt, white balaclava, gloves and dark pants.

Anyone who was in the Hawker area last night and may be able to assist police with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
