Mulcahy celebrates being on the fringe

By Kerces - 8 February 2006 8

ACT Opposition Arts spokesman Richard Mulcahy urges Canberrans to get involved in the Fringe Festival after he had a good time at the launch.

The Fringe Festival runs concurrently with the Multicultural Festival in and around the Street Theatre. Mr Mulchay describes it as “ideal for relaxing for anything from just a few hours to the whole day”.

He said that at the festival’s opening, “I had the opportunity to speak to patrons from interstate and even overseas as well as many local residents.”

Was anyone out there one of these people who talked to Mr Mulcahy at the opening? And can you tell me if our real Arts Minister was there? I hear on the grapevine that he all but never turns up to any arts events in Canberra.

What’s Your opinion?

Yep. understood. I was being sarcastic. Damn RiotACT for not having a “tone” button. 🙂

The point, LG, is that he never goes to such events despite the fact he is the minister and probably should be seen at these things.

Well, you live and learn. I’ve been to many such events and could have sworn we had no such minister. Sigh.

I sense the irony in the title of this thread – outer rim may he find himself!

I attend lots of local ‘arts’ functions and I never see Nero there….same with love-to-have-a-beer-with-Hargreaves never turns up at ethnic functions.

Indeed we do LG, as any perusal of the Legislative Assembly website can tell you.

Their initials are JS.
