Ummmm… the following countries border the Mediterranean Sea:

Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco.

Not to mention:

The British overseas territory of Gibraltar; the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla and nearby islands; the British sovereign base area of Akrotiri and Dhekelia; the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (disputed); and the Gaza Strip of the Palestinian Territories.

So is it really a good description for the police to be using?

Darker skinner European. British Police normally say “Mediterranean and Hispanic’

When that Hispanic security guard in Florida I think it was shot that black guy in apparent self defence the press called him a White Hispanic so that it then became a more emotionally fired up White man shoots Black man.

Being of Scandinavian origins, I was given the nickname “white wog” by my mates in high school. The Greeks and the Italians were just wogs.
I didn’t mind, it meant that you belonged…
