A new project from some Canberra punk veterans is making a splash in the Australian scene. REVELLERS – a melodic punk rock band from Canberra, Australia – played their first shows just as the 2012 winter was kicking in, and are quickly establishing themselves as a rising force in Australian punk rock.

Formed by Josh Anderson and Aaron Gaffney (both ex-Lamexcuse) and their good friend and drummer Dave DeMaine, REVELLERS are all about keeping things short, simple and loud. Since June, the boys have started to make an impact – quickly picking up shows with established acts such as Anchors (Melbourne), Transit (USA), The Outsiders (NZ) and Paper Arms (Adelaide), as well as locking down the support for the Canberra leg of the upcoming The Swellers (USA) tour.

A band with a serious work ethic, REVELLERS have just released a four song demo that showcases their high energy approach and punchy song writing, available from their SoundCloud page. The plan to spend the rest of 2012 refining their songs and playing shows, before heading in to the studio to record their first EP release, due out early next year on newly founded independent label Heartfelt Records.
