ACTEW Water advise the smoke and emergency vehicles at the Cotter Dam are a training exercise:
The Bulk Water Alliance (John Holland, Abigroup, GHD and ACTEW Water) who are delivering the enlarged Cotter Dam project, are conducting this training as part of our continual improvement in being prepared to respond to a serious emergency or incident if it were to occur.
Emergency Services have been advised and are involved in the exercise.
The training exercise involves a ‘fake explosions and smoke’ coming from the Intake Tower structure and the simulated injury of two workers in that area.
The community may see ‘fake smoke’ and emergency services vehicles in the area but please do not be alarmed as this is part of the training exercise.
