Nurses' memorial vandalised

The Nurses’ Memorial on Anzac Parade was vandalised yesterday. By the time I got there this morning, someone had been along with CAUTION tape and black plastic and covered the broken panel up. It’s on the inside of the memorial, so the damage is not actually visible from the road on either side.

Police say the damage this time was suspicious, unlike when a panel was damaged a few years ago which was put down to heat stress. The panels cost about $80,000 to replace.

It was probably Amber Jane Westin attempting to avenge the death of DJ McLachlin.

Trying to get a Riotact event attended by more than a token half-dozen has defeated many wise minds before now. But if you want to have a “concerned citizens, who happen to include a few people who are on Riotact”, you’ll probably do better.

Stanhope has fuck all to do with it. It is NCA land. I am sure the pollies at the Big House would have the NCA ride rough shod over Sonic if they could over this patriotic issue.

So guys what about a RiotAct all nighter get together on Anzac Parade with publicity?

It would be good I guess but only problem is Stanhope didn’t come up with the idea so there is no way it will get done. I’m surprised the RSL hasn’t come up with this proposal. If you could get them onside the idea might get off the ground.

so who is going to draw a letter up – sure as shit we can get the signatures…

it would be excellent..

You’d have some funky “aid to civil power” issues if you want them to do any more than call the police when they see something untoward.

Having said that even in that limited capacity it sounds like an excellent use of cadets from ADFA and RMC.

a five person patrol at all times shouldn’t be beyond their resources and would be excellent marching practice 😉

Army marching up and down Anzac parade 24hrs and we could have a changing the guard. It would attract tourists. What a bloody good idea I must say so myself.

Lets start a citizens security force. I have a 6d cell mag lite a 1million cp lantern and a penchant for thumping people who wilfully destroy public property.

I also own quite a bit of camo gear so I can look militia style 🙂

Yeah i’ll even put in an all nighter doing some security work on the site.

Actually good idea I might apply for that job as well not going to have much on in a couple of weeks

Shauno – Ill do static security on the site.

Apparently I look tough and menacing.

Just dont let the would be ruffians know Im just a teddy bear or they will walk all over me

They seem to have no problems forking out for the revenue raising cameras

Simple little secure camera setup with wireless will do the trick for vandels. Ill even donate a few $$ if they are that short of cash

An unfortunate reminder that school holidays have started for some.

Cutns.

They really need to install CTV there now.

not really. there are some fairly nice banks and stairs there to play with evil.

I bet it was those fucking feral cats.

I thought skaters avoided the memorials on ANZAC Pde?

10 bucks says they do mr evil. i skate there

Scumbags. I wonder if they own a skateboard????

re my above post of = off

Lay them on ther back – stand on their chest and rip their arms of mortal combat style.

Peopel like this dont deserve the freedom of having limbs – if this is what they use them for.

Bugger the angry diggers, put them in with some angry nurses…

disgraceful.

vandals are one of the lowest forms of life. theives i despise as well but at least they obtain something for the crime – vandalism is a wanton act.

Shame they will never be caught – if I were a judge I’d sentence them to bed-pan duty in hospitals for 5 yrs.

as soon as this was built i knew it would be targetted by vandals.

what on earth were they thinking ?

sad but a fact of life.
