O’Connor woman, 30, bailed after allegedly trying to run over former partner

A 30-year-old woman has allegedly tried to run over her former partner, driving at him several times.

Region is not naming the woman to protect the identity of her alleged victim.

ACT Policing said that at about 12 pm on Monday (9 September), the woman, who was accompanied by her two children, met her former partner near Dickson pool, where they had a conversation.

Police then allege the woman got in her car and drove at him, narrowly missing him. She then allegedly reversed the vehicle and drove at him a second time, striking him in the hand and ribs.

The woman and her children left the scene and police were called, according to ACT Policing.

After speaking to the alleged victim and other witnesses, police went to the woman’s residence in O’Connor where they arrested her.

The 30-year-old woman was charged with aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm, aggravated property damage, and driving offences.

She faced the ACT Magistrates Court the following day (10 September), where Magistrate Robert Cook granted bail.

The woman is next expected to appear before the court on 8 October. No pleas have been entered.
