This one came across my desk and looks interesting.

Paint People
A Selection of Portrait Paintings from the ANU Art School 2010 Graduation Show
Official Opening Tuesday Jan 25th 6pm

While browsing the Art School Grad show to select a winner for the Belconnen Gallery Emerging Artist Support Scheme prize, we noticed a great strength in the graduating students from the painting department. Four artists, who each focused on portraits in their exhibit, stood out among the rest. Their individual styles, contrasting use of colour and texture, and general ability to demand the attention of the audience, highlighted just how many different ways there are to paint people.

As an unofficial extension of the EASS we have asked these four painters – Lisa Twomey, Angela Parragi, Alison Chaplin, and Laine Stewart – to team up for a group exhibition to explore the relationship between these contrasting techniques and viewpoints, and the effect of seeing them all together
