Parking Woden style

I spotted the poor attempt at parking in the attached photo this afternoon in Woden (just near the Cameron Offices).

Sadly, there was no yellow envelope on the Black Subaru.

They book people parked like this all the time. If there is ‘park in bays only’ sign at the entrance to the carpark then when a patrol goes by they will get booked.

the BMW was parked first, then the Commodore.

the space taken up by the BMW is wider than the others, but not enough for two cars. the kerbing on the left side curves in just in front of the subaru.

I stand corrected.

I see no issue here. In fact I think a greater injustice would be served by fining anyone here. And an equally bad injustice is the fact that the lines for the car parks are badly drawn and the gutter going in where a car should be.

A normal person could back out of that spot, but I doubt a Canberra born driver could.

Great, now the Libs are going to put out a media release that says, if elected, they will make parking spaces wider! Hahahaha!

And that is why you regularly see rows and rows of cars in carparks filled with people trapped inside.

The lines are always going to be too narrow when you leave two and a half feet of space between your car and the line on the driver’s side.
