Police play with robots in the Woden bus interchange

Back in January quite a few people were displeased when the police took over the Woden Bus interchange to play war games.

But at least now they’ve released video so we can see what they were up to.

Earlier this year ACT Policing facilitated a National Counter Terrorism Committee (NCTC) training exercise which provided ACT Policing’s Specialist Response and Security and General Duties officers an opportunity to test their response to a scenario.

Any particular reason the colour grading makes it look like the big one has just gone off? Looks like something beyond the thunderdome, though I guess some of the people at the Woden interchange to have a resemblance to the highway rebels from Mad Max.

So… are the police using robots to chase away emos?

The AFP regularly use the old Dept of Health building in Woden for exercises.

I’m sure that get up to all this type of stuff in there too.

yep a major exercise in the Alexander Building is happening today.

I was about to say that. About ten or more cars, twice what they usually have.

I believe another one took place yesterday afternoon around Hackett shops? Can anyone confirm what was going on there?

Well they would have all completed the advanced “Pepper spray is never enough” course, so It was probably the remedial “Tasering them to death 101” course practical.
