Join Dr Michael McKernan for a special 2015 Remembrance Day presentation. His research charting the effects of war on Australian society is particularly poignant as we commemorate Anzacs at Gallipoli 100 years ago.

Hear Peter Alliot, winner of the 2014 Chief Ministers Anzac Prize, recite his award winning poem The Forgotten. Peter is in Year 11 at Narrabundah College.

Dr Michael McKernan, a former academic, is a consultant historian with clients in government and private enterprise. He is the author or editor of dozens of books in the field of Australian military and social history. He is also an experienced ABC broadcaster.

Dr McKernan was the National Archives’ Frederick Watson Fellow 1999, researching into Australian prisoners of war and their treatment after they returned to Australia in 1945.His research culminated in the publication of a book, This War Never Ends: The Pain of Separation and Return (QUP, 2001).
