Some interesting results from this week’s quick and dirty scan of allhomes rental listings.

The daily listings continued very strong. But the relatively slight increase in overall listings indicates a lot of homes were either filled, or taken off the market.

It seems like it’s going to get a lot worse especially for rentals with the large number of developments finishing in 2014. Anecdotally in the Kingston foreshore area there is a lot of talk of empty apartments as people simply can’t fill them.

As far as ensuring that everyone in the community has access to what is one of the most fundamental human rights, I think what you mean to say is its going to get a lot better.

I guess for the first time in a long time the 2014 graduates will have a much better time finding places to live with vacancies going from 0.5% to 3%.

It’s a double edged sword, they’ll also have a much harder time finding jobs in the current economic climate.
