Roadworks and Rain close Cotter Road

By johnboy - 1 June 2013 5

TAMS are giving notice of the first road closures as the wet weather comes in:

The ACT Government wishes to advise motorists and other road users that Cotter Road between Lady Denman Drive and Tuggeranong Parkway is now closed as a result of the rain deteriorating existing road works.

Lady Denman Drive and McCulloch Street will remain closed at the intersection with Cotter Road until 6 am on Monday 3 June 2013 due to road works.

Silly me went through there late on Friday night. Big mistake. Couldn’t figure out why it was still open with all the potholes, slush and misdirected foglights.

Seriously…it’s not even like we had a real deluge. Sure, it was wet, but we’ve had less than 15mm rain today. Roadworks not being able to handle a bit of rain is pretty pathetic!

+1. You’d think Yarralumla Creek must have risen in flood and taken out the bridge from the sound of it.

Awesome that the goat tracks there (which are bad enough in fine weather!) weren’t designed with the possibility of bad weather (i.e rain) occurring…..
ACT Govt might want to review their contract with the roadworks company there…..
