Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Ashes and Choppa are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the Week: Choppa

Choppa is a young boy who has spent his life in and out of the shelter. Unfortunately, he has been here longer than he has been in a home. He is a sweet boy who has missed out on essential aspects of early life, including the security of growing into adolescence with a loving family by his side.

He is a dynamo with boundless energy. He absolutely loves his playtime out in the yards, running and playing with kennel staff. When not lying down with a plushy to keep him entertained, he loves to play fetch and will never run away from a good game of tug-of-war.

Choppa is still a young dog and will require a patient and experienced owner who can provide him with further training and socialisation as he continues to grow up.

Choppa is suitable as a second dog if you want to expand your fur family and will require an active lifestyle consisting of daily walks and enrichment.

He is truly a very enthusiastic boy who has a lot of love to give, deserving a shot at life out of the shelter and instead in a long-term loving home. If Choppa sounds like the right match for you, come down to the RSPCA ACT Shelter and meet him today!

Cat of the Week: Ashes

Ashes is a sweet, shy young girl who came into the shelter last December. She has spent five out of her six months on earth here in our care after coming in as a stray kitten and is now hoping to find her forever family.

Ashes has grown immensely over the last few months. She spent most of her time in foster care with a loving carer who spoiled her with love and, more importantly, patience. She has come far from the nervous girl who first entered our doors and, while still a shy and quiet cat, is ready to find her perfect match.

Ashes would suit a calm home where she can explore and settle in at her own pace, with a loving family by her side as she warms up to her new environment.

Once settled in nicely, Ashes will adore you and love some snuggle time after your long days, especially in the upcoming chilly months, to keep warm. If you think Ashes sounds like your type of cat, come down to the shelter and meet her today!

Visit RSPCA ACT at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
